Women's Tennis Opens Spring Season On Saturday Afternoon

BUFFALO, NY – The University at Buffalo, The State University of New York women's tennis team begins the spring portion of its schedule on Saturday afternoon when the Bulls host St. Francis (PA) at the Miller Tennis Center. The match begins at 1:00 pm.
UB is coming off a successful fall campaign that saw the Bulls go a combined 47-20 in singles action and 18-12 in doubles action. Junior Laura Holterbosch led UB in the fall with a 9-1 record, while freshman Chantal Martinez Blanco went 7-1. Sophomore Christine Haraldson is 8-2 so far on the season, while Margarita Kotok is 7-3. Sophomore Tanja Stojanovska is 6-3 on the year and newcomers Mercedes Losada Rubio and Sanjana Sudhir are 5-3 and 4-4, respectively.
Holterbosch and Stojanovska led the way with a 7-2 doubles record, while Kotok and senior Dayana Agasieva are 6-3.
St. Francis (PA) enters the weekend with a 0-2 record after dropping matches to Howard and Navy last week. The Red Flash will face Niagara on Friday night before playing the Bulls on Saturday afternoon.
