BUFFALO, NY – First-year head coach Nate Oats added another member to the 2015-16 Bulls on Wednesday morning with the addition of Dallas, TX native CJ Massinburg. He becomes the third player to sign this spring with UB.
Massinburg is a 6'3" guard from South Oak Cliff High School in Dallas. As a senior, the combo guard averaged 23.8 points, 7.3 rebounds, and 4.3 assists, resulting in Offensive MVP in the district, All-State 5A and All-Region honors, along with a third-team All-Area selection. He led the 5A district in total points and was named the Dallas vs. Tarrant County All-Star Game MVP.
Massinburg had several big scoring performances during his senior season at South Oak Cliff, including a 42-point outburst in a win over Spruce High School. He also had a 37-point game against Kimball High School.
"We're really excited to bring CJ into our family here," said Oats. "He has a real chance to be a big contributor for us over the next four years. He is a big guard with a huge upside that can play multiple positions. He has won everywhere he has been, playing on extremely successful high school and AAU teams and we are thrilled that he will bring that winning attitude to Buffalo."
Massinburg joins Willie Conner and David Kadiri, who both signed during the spring period, and Nick Perkins, who signed with the Bulls back in November.
