Shannon Evans Named MAC East Player Of The Week & Big 4 Player Of The Week

BUFFALO, NY – For the second straight week, University at Buffalo, The State University of New York, men's basketball sophomore Shannon Evans has been named the MAC East Player of the Week. Evans was also named Big 4 Player of the Week on Monday morning.
Evans averaged 17.0 points, 3.5 rebounds, 5.0 assists and 2.5 steals this past week as UB won a pair of games to increase their season-long winning streak to four games. Evans finished with 13 points, four assists and three steals in the win over Akron and then he led the Bulls with 21 points and six assists in the road victory at Kent State on Saturday evening. Evans shot 50% from the field during the week, including 40% from behind the arc. Evans currently leads the Bulls in assists and is second on the team in scoring at 15.4 points per game.
This is the fourth time this year that Evans has been named MAC East Player of the Week and the seventh time that a UB men's basketball player has earned the honor, which is the most in the Mid-American Conference.
Today marks the third time that Evans has been named the Big 4 Player of the Week.
Evans and the Bulls are home for their final two games, beginning tomorrow night when UB hosts Ohio at Alumni Arena. Tipoff is set for 7:00 pm.
