
Softball Adds Four During Signing Period

BUFFALO, NY - Head coach Trena Peel has announced the addition of four student-athletes who have signed National Letters of Intent for the upcoming season. These four will join six other incoming players for the 2014-15 season.
Gabbie Bennett - Virginia Beach, VA- Outfielder
Outfielder Gabbie Bennett currently plays for Greenbrier Christian Academy, where she leads her team with a .511 average and .577 on base percentage. As a junior, Bennett was named a Tidewater Conference First Team selection helping Greenbrier to their fifth straight state title and an undefeated season. She plays her club softball for the Virginia Legends.
"Gabbie is a triple-threat from the left side with a lot of speed," said Peel. "Her speed is going to help us on the bases and in the outfield. She will be an instant impact player that will be entertaining to watch!"
Makayla Kowaliuk - Abbotsford, British Columbia – Shortstop/3B
A native of British Columbia, Canada, Kowaliuk plays her softball at Yale Secondary. She currently has a .422 batting average and plays both third base and short stop. Kowaliuk has received invites to play for the Canadian Junior National Team and has played in the Triple Crown Showcase in 2012. She also finished in second place at the Canadian International Open in 2011. She has played her club softball for the BC1 Surrey Storm.
"Makayla is tall and very athletic," said Peel. " She is an outstanding shortstop and third basemen that can cover a lot of ground. She swings the bat very well and it will be great to add her power to our lineup."
Danielle Lallos - Tracy, CA – Shortstop/3B/ P/OF
Danielle Lallos joins the Bulls from Tracy, CA and John C. Kimball High School. She plays her club softball for RR Gold 18U. Lallos is a career .408 hitter at Kimball High School, having driven in 97 runs in 106 games played. This year, Lallos is hitting .538 with 10 doubles, two triples and three home runs. Lallos was named first-team All-League in 2013 and second-team All-League in both 2011 and 2012.
"Danielle is a baller. She will be able to play anywhere that I put her," said Peel. "Her versatility on defense will be an asset to our team. She is little but swings a big bat. She'll be a very exciting player to see in action."
Charlotte Miller - Buffalo, NY - P/1B
Charlotte Miller is a Western New York native, who plays her high school softball at Kenmore West and her club softball for Amherst Lightning Showcase. Miller was named first-team All-Western New York by the Buffalo News as she pitched a no-hitter against Amherst and on offense she hit .570 with seven home runs and 31 runs batted in.
"Charlotte is one of our local backyard ballers," said Peel. "She is one of the top pitchers in the area and it will be fun to see her blossom on the mound over the next four years. She is a strong kid that's going to add some long balls to our offense."
