BUFFALO, NY – The University at Buffalo men's basketball team will host Manhattan of the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference in a Ramada Worldwide BracketBusters matchup on February 23. The game was not selected to be televised.
Manhattan is 7-15 overall and has a 5-7 record in the MAAC to rank seventh in the conference. The teams have had two common opponents this season in Niagara and Canisius. The Jaspers lost at Canisius, 64-60, on Jan. 17 and lost at Niagara, 64-60, on Jan. 19. Manhattan is led by Rhamel Brown who is averaging 11.9 points and 6.9 rebounds per game.
This will only be the third meeting between the schools. Buffalo holds a 2-0 edge in the all-time series, defeating the Jaspers, 68-66, in 1998 and 75-71 in 1999.
This season marks the ninth year the Bulls will participate in BracketBusters weekend. The Bulls hold a 4-4 record in the event. This is just the fourth time in nine years Buffalo will host a BracketBusters game.
It is the third time the Bulls will face off against a team from the MAAC in a BracketBuster game. UB played at Iona in 2006 and played at Saint Peter's in 2010.
A tip-off time for the game has yet to be determined.
Up next for Buffalo is a Wednesday night game at Eastern Michigan.
