
Tanvi Shah Named MAC Player Of The Week

BUFFALO, NY – Buffalo sophomore Tanvi Shah has been named the Mid-American Conference Player of the Week, the conference office announced on Wednesday afternoon. The honor is the first of Shah's career and the first for a UB women's tennis player this year.
Shah went a perfect 4-0 this past weekend as she won both of her matches at first singles and third doubles. On Friday against Toledo, Shah picked up a victory at third doubles by default. She then won her match at first singles against Kelsey Anonsen, 6-3, 6-4. On Saturday, Shah came back to win two more matches against Eastern Michigan. At third doubles, Shah joined Anamaria Candanoza to come back and win their match in a tie breaker, 8-7 (7-4). Shah had another straight sets win at first singles as she defeated Nino Mebuke, 6-4, 6-2.
Shah leads the Bulls with a 14-9 singles record, including a 5-2 mark in the MAC at first singles. She also has 10 victories in doubles on the season.
The Bulls conclude the regular season on Sunday when they head to Northern Illinois. The match begins at 2pm.
