Filzen and Robinson to Play for Athletes in Action in East Asia

BUFFALO, NY – Zach Filzen and Titus Robinson of the University at Buffalo men's basketball team have been selected to play for Athletes in Action and have embarked on a tour of East Asia.
The United States Eagles basketball team will tour East Asia from June 8 until June 23 playing against professional teams and holding clinics for young children.
"I am looking forward to spreading the truth of the Gospel to the people of East Asia," Filzen said. "It is an amazing opportunity to use the platform God has given us to be an incredible influence."
"I am looking to be more open with my personal testimony and also increase my faith in Christ," Robinson said.
Filzen and Robinson will be joined on the trip by current players from schools around the country, including representation from teams in the ACC, the Big Ten, Conference USA and the Ivy League.
"I'm really excited for their opportunity to travel abroad and learn a different culture - and then the development that takes place by being on a team that's competing at an international level," head coach Reggie Witherspoon said. "I know it's done great things for guys in the past who have done that. I'm really excited for Titus and Zach and I'm sure it's going to aid in their development as people, first, and as athletes, second."
Filzen, an All-MAC honorable mention selection, averaged a team-best 15.1 points per game last season. Robinson averaged 4.9 points and 2.3 rebounds per game last year. Both players are entering their senior seasons.
Athletes In Action is an organization that allows college athletes a unique opportunity to use sports as a way to help others around the world.
