2011-12: Competed as an exhibition entrant at the MAC Championships, setting season-bests in all three of his races, the 200 freestyle (1:43.84), 500 freestyle (4:35.83) and 1,650 freestyle (16:23.01).
2010-11: Set season-best marks in all three of his races at the MAC Championships. Finished 14th in the 1,650 freestyle (16:18.12), 18th in the 500 freestyle (4:38.92) and 21st in the 200 freestyle (1:42.89) at the league meet.
2009-10: Selected as UB’s Most Improved swimmer following the 2009-10 season. Placed 11th in the 1,650 freestyle (16:04.76) at the MAC Championships. Also finished 15th in the 500 freestyle (4:37.58) and 19th in the 200 freestyle (1:42.47) at the MAC meet.
High School: Earned four letters at Mason High School under coaches Ken Heis and Mark Sullivan. Broke the 500 freestyle record and was a member of the 400 freestyle relay in high school. Was also an All-American in 2009. Swam seven years for the Mason Manta Rays club program.
Personal: Born January 27, 1990. Son of Anthony and Mary Rice. Has one brother (Jeremy) and one sister (Alisha). Favorite food is lasagna. Chose UB because of the team and the School of Engineering. Favorite TV show is Seinfeld. Majoring in chemical engineering.
