2012-13: Had his best times of the season at the MAC Championships in the 50 freestyle (21.26), 100 backstroke (50.38) and 200 backstroke (1:51.50).
2011-12: Part of UB’s record setting 400 medley relay (3:13.77) at the MAC Championships. Finished sxith in the 200 backstroke (1:48.99), ninth in the 100 backstroke (49.96) and 17th in the 50 freestyle (20.99) at the meet.
2010-11: Named men’s team Top Rookie. Earned All-MAC First Team and Collegeswimming.com Mid-Major All-America honors. Part of three record setting relays at the MAC Championships (200 medley relay, 1:27.87, 400 medley relay 3:14.98, 800 free relay 6:37.12). Finished third in the 200 backstroke (1:47.45) and fifth in the 50 freestyle (20.69) at the MAC Championships. Set school record in the 100 backstroke (48.03) in his leg of the 400 medley relay. Qualified for the 2012 U.S. Olympic Trials in the 100-meter backstroke (57.53) and 400-meter medley relay (3:50.00) at the U.S. Nationals over the summer.
High School: Earned six letters and captained two seasons for coach Art Aungst at Orchard Park High School. The 2010 New York State champion in the 50 freestyle and 100 backstroke. Set Section VI records in the 50 freestyle, 100 backstroke and 200 medley relay and set school records in four individual events and two relays. Also swam with EAST, Eagle Ridge and STAR club programs.
Personal: Born October 10, 1991. Favorite food is chicken wings. Favorite movies include Saw, Rocky and The Hangover. Lists earning his first medal at Junior Nationals as his greatest athletic experience. Grandfather was drafted by the Cincinnati Reds. Majoring in exercise science.
