BUFFALO, NY – The University at Buffalo swimming and diving program is continuing its season with a tri-meet at Ohio University on Friday and Saturday, competing against the Bobcats and the Marshall Thundering Herd. Action in the pool begins at 5 p.m. on Friday, and continues on Saturday morning at 10 a.m.
The Bulls enter the second meet of the season with momentum, defeating the Niagara Purple Eagles last Saturday at home, 213-85. Cornell also competed among the programs, but the results were not scored.
The Bulls won nine of the 16 events throughout the meet, led by Bella Forsman, who won three, and Nicole Aguilar, who won two. Freshman diver Adele Melamud also won both the three-meter (293.55) and one-meter (278.48) events. The Buffalo divers dominated the competition, taking six of the top 10 spots in the three-meter and then six of the top seven spots in the one-meter. The Bulls improved to 37-7 all-time versus Niagara.
"The girls have been putting in hard work in practice and the meet was a really good start to the season, showing us where we are at and what we need to work on," said Head Coach Andy Bashor.
The Bulls and Thundering Herd will compete head-to-head for the third consecutive season. Marshall leads the all-time series, 3-2. The Bulls have not competed head-to-head with Ohio since the 2022-23 season.
