2010-11: Selected men’s team’s Most Valuable swimmer for second straight season. Earned All-MAC First Team and Collegeswimming.com Mid-Major All-American. Won the MAC title in the 50 freestyle (20.26) and 100 freestyle (44.44). Part of three record setting relays (200 free relay, 1:21.23, 200 medley relay, 1:27.87, 400 free relay 2:56.60). Finished fifth in the 200 freestyle (1:39.43) and broke the 100 freestyle record (44.38) in the preliminary round at the MAC Championships.
2009-10: Named UB’s Most Valuable men’s swimmer. Earned first-team All-MAC honors as he tied for second in the 100 freestyle (44.95) with teammate Matt Hogan at the MAC Championships. Placed fourth in the 200 freestyle (1:39.32) and fifth in the 50 free (20.46) at the MAC meet. Anchored the 400 and 800 freestyle relays to second-place finishes and the 400 medley relay to a third-place finish.
2008-09: A member of the record-breaking 200 and 800 freestyle relays. Earned career-best times in the 100 freestyle (45.23) and 50 freestyle (20.63), finishing in second and fifth place, respectively, at the MAC Championship meet. Earned the team’s Most Improved Award following the 2008-09 season.
High School: Earned four letters and captained two seasons under coach Jack McIntyre at Corry Area High School. Set school records in the 50, 100, 200, 500 freestyle, 200 IM and 200 butterfly. Six-time Pennsylvania high school state finalist. Also lettered in cross country and track.
Personal: Born June 30, 1990. Son of David and Kathy Heine. Favorite food is steak. Hobbies include cycling, dirt biking and camping. Majoring in geography.
