Bulls Host Ball State on Thursday

BUFFALO, NY - The University at Buffalo women's soccer team (5-2-1) closes the homestand on Thursday night as they host Ball State in a showdown under the lights at UB Stadium at 6pm. Fans are encouraged to stay after the game for an exclusive poster signing, thanks to our Game ChangeHER partners.
It will be the 27th meeting between Buffalo and Ball State with the Cardinals owning a narrow 12-10-4 series advantage. The teams played to a scoreless draw in Muncie a season ago.
Buffalo dominated from start to finish in a 3-0 win over Miami (OH) at UB Stadium on Sunday. Junior Laiken Kiser recorded her second multi-goal of the season and Ashley Reyes added an insurance goal late in the game as the Bulls have now recorded three or more goals in three contests this season. The Bulls outshot Miami (OH) 12-9 on the day, including a 6-2 advantage in shots on goal and a 4-2 edge in corner kick opportunities. Lexie Thompson made two saves for UB.
The Bulls are balanced offensively, with 12 goals scored off the feet of seven different players, led by Kiser who has five goals and Reyes and Jasmine Guerber who have notched a pair of goals. Thomspon leads the Bulls between the pipes, compiling a 5-2-1 overall record. She leads the MAC in goals against average (.64) and shutouts (4) while ranking second in save percentage (.833) across eight contests.
As a team, the Bulls lead the MAC and rank in the top 50 nationally in goals against average (.63) and shutout percentage (.500). Offensively, the Bulls lead the league in shots per game (16.0), shots on goal (8.0) per game, scoring offense (1.88) and corner kicks per game (6.4), while ranking third in points (43) and assists (13).
Ball State is 4-3-2 overall and 1-1-1 in league play after falling to Kent State 1-0 on Sunday. The Cardinals are led offensively by Addie Chester who leads the MAC in goals (6) and points (15) and Delaney Caldwell who has notched two goals and leads the team and the league with 26 shots. Abby Jenkins leads Ball State between the pipes, as she owns a 1.09 goals against average and an .800 save percentage with 24 saves in seven starts this season.
