Bulls Head West for Two Game Road Swing in Colorado

BUFFALO, NY – The University at Buffalo women's soccer team (4-0-1) heads west for a two-game stint in Colorado, beginning on Thursday with a contest at Colorado College at 8pm (EST).
It will be the overall meeting between Buffalo and both the Tigers and Bears.
Buffalo put forth a dominant effort worthy of its special senior class, to lead the Bulls to a 3-0 win over Colgate on Senior Day at UB Stadium on Sunday afternoon. It was the second straight shutout, and third overall, for UB this season. Junior midfielder Sarah Woods scored the game-winner in the 16th minute, senior forward Jasmine Guerber added a goal five minutes later and Ellie Simmons capped the half with a penalty kick goal. Buffalo outshot Colgate 15-7 on the day, including a 10-3 advantage in shots on goal. Sophomore Lexie Thompson made three saves on the day.
As a team, the Bulls lead the league and rank in the top 30 nationally in goals against average (.400) save percentage (.920) and shutout percentage (.600) while also ranking in the top three in saves per game (4.6) and shots per game (14.0). Individually, Guerber leads UB with three goals while five other players have added a goal on the year. Between the pipes, Thompson is 4-0-1 overall with three shutouts, 21 saves, a 0.40 goals against average and a .913 save percentage.
Colorado College is 4-4 overall after defeating UC Santa Barbara 3-2 on Sunday. The Tigers were picked to finish last in the Mountain West Conference preseason poll. Individually, three players from CC were named to the preseason watch list: Kaelin Enga, Alexis Wessler and Makenna Kolson. The Tigers are led offensively by Brett Tsmasfyros who has scored three goals, while three other players have recorded two goals each. Sophomore Regan Wallace leads CC between the pipes as she has recorded a 3-4 overall record with 27 saves, two shutouts, a 1.57 goals against average and a .711 save percentage. The Tigers are Division I in women's soccer and men's ice hockey, and compete at the Division III level for all of its other 17 varsity sports.
Northern Colorado is 1-7 overall after defeating Iowa State 1-0 on Sunday. The Bears, who return nine starters from a season ago, were picked to finish last in the Big Sky preseason poll. Individually, Lexi Tuite returns for her sophomore season after leading the Bears in goals, points, shot attempts and shots on goal, while also notching the first hat trick during UNC's NCAA Division I era. Junior Kaya Lindberg has started seven games between the pipes, making 36 saves and recording a .720 save percentage.
