
Four Bulls Named Academic All-MAC

BUFFALO, NY – Four University at Buffalo wrestlers were named to the Academic All-Mid-American Conference team, the league announced on Wednesday. Chase Kranitz, Ty Raines, Hunter Shaut and Robbie Unruh were all honored by the conference.
Kranitz is a criminology major with a 3.254 grade point average. Kranitz went 23-12 overall and 13-8 in duals on the season. He finished third at the 2024 MAC Championships.
Raines is a heath and human services major with a 3.526 GPA. He started 13 duals before suffering a season-ending injury. He won seven duals, including a 2-1 record in MAC duals.
Shaut, who earlier this month was named a NWCA Scholar All-American, is a childhood education major with a 3.933 GPA. He went 12-14 overall and 10-10 in duals on the year. He took seventh place at the 2024 MAC Championships.
Unruh has a 3.451 grade point average as a biochemistry major. He started 10 duals for UB this past season. He posted three dual wins, including 1-1 in MAC duals.
The Academic All-MAC honor is for a student-athlete who has excelled in athletics and academics. To qualify, a student-athlete must have at least a 3.20 cumulative GPA and have participated in at least 50 percent of the contests for that particular sport.
