Fundamental Academic Skills Training (F.A.S.T.)
FAST is a six-week summer bridge program for student-athletes. FAST provides incoming student-athletes with skills, knowledge, and resources they need in order to have a successful first year at UB. Transitioning into college life is a daunting task for anyone, especially for those with the additional pressure of being a Division I athlete; therefore, FAST’s goal is to provide student-athletes with all necessary information and experiences during the summer, to allow for a smooth transition into the Fall.
FAST is a program filled with workshops and events, aimed to increase educational outcomes of the new student-athletes Each of the sessions have been created and organized by the Learning Development Center staff and includes various seminars pertaining to: college transition, note taking and study skills, college expectations, resources on campus, and other information deemed necessary in order to effectively navigate campus and classes.
