IRVING, TX – Two former and one current University at Buffalo football players have been named to the National Football Foundation Hampshire Honor Society – comprised of college football players who maintained a cumulative 3.2 or better grade point average throughout their college career. Evan Davis, Alex McNulty and Dom Polizzi were all named, marking the 12th time in the last 13 years a UB player has made the prestigious list.
In order to be eligible for membership into the honor society, a player must be a senior who will graduate this spring/summer and just completed his final year of playing eligibility in 2023 or a graduated player, who has been out of high school at least three years. The player must have attained a minimum undergraduate cumulative GPA of 3.2 (4.0 scale) and been a starter or significant contributor throughout the 2023 season.
Davis served as the Bulls' long snapper for all 57 games over his five-year career. A four-time Academic All-MAC selection, he was a criminology major with a 3.38 grade point average.
McNulty was honored by the National Football Foundation for the second straight season. A graduate student studying physics, McNulty had a 4.0 grade point average. He finished his career at UB as the program's all-time leader in field goals (60), extra points (189) and scoring (369).
Polizzi is a graduate student in his sixth year with the program. A history major with a 3.65 grade point average, Polizzi is a four-time All-MAC selection. He has been a reliable member of the offense line over his career and made three starts at center in 2023.
An elite group of 1,988 players from 339 schools qualified for membership in 2024, setting a new record for the number of members in a single year during the program's 18-year history. The initiative has now honored 18,386 student-athletes since its inception. Click here for the 2024 list of members.
