Bulls Look to Stay Golden at Kent State

KENT, Ohio – The University at Buffalo men's basketball team (10-10, 4-3 MAC) will play the top-seeded Kent State Golden Flashes (16-4, 6-1 MAC) on Friday evening. The Bulls are coming off a 91-65 win at Ball State on Tuesday evening. Curtis Jones led the team with 27 points, his seventh 20+ point performance of the season. Another 20-point scorer was Armoni Foster finishing with a career-high 20 points and seven assists. Isaiah Adams (12) and Zid Powell (11) also finished in double figures. The Bulls led wire to wire holding the lead for 39:36. LaQuill Hardnett led the team with eight rebounds as Jonnivius Smith had seven.
Foster's performance marked the first time in the nation a player went 8-for-8 shooting with seven assists in a game this season. He has also had three straight games with seven assists and seven of his last eight games he's recorded at least five assists. The last Bull to record seven or more assists in three straight games as Wes Clark in Jan. 2018. Jarod Oldham had four straight games with seven or more assists in 2011-12.
With the help from Foster, the Bulls are first in the MAC and 42nd in the nation in assists per game at 15.50.
In transition, the Bulls are now second in the nation in fastbreak points, averaging 18.60 per game.
