BUFFALO, NY – University at Buffalo head men's basketball coach Jim Whitesell has announced the addition of Isaac Jack, who will join the Bulls for the upcoming 2022-23 season.
A native of Port Alberni, British Columbia, the 6-11 center transferred from Alberni District Secondary School in British Columbia to Fort Erie International Academy in Ontario to finish high school. In nine games against competition within the Ontario Scholastic Basketball Association, Jack averaged 15.9 points per game and 7.9 rebounds per contest. In those nine games, he shot 76.7% from the floor.
Jack was selected to play in the All-Canadian BioSteel Basketball Game, Canada's version of the McDonalds High School All-American Game. Playing against the top players in the country, Jack finished with eight points on 4-of-6 shooting in 17 minutes of action.
"It was imperative for us to get back into Canada from a recruiting standpoint and we got a great one in Isaac Jack," said Whitesell. "He embraces all of the Blue Collar qualities that we preach here at Buffalo and welcomes the physicality of the game. Isaac has a high motor, and we believe he will continue a tradition of great big men to wear a Buffalo uniform."
Jack joins a loaded recruiting class that includes fellow freshman Devin Ceaser, who signed his NLI back in November and transfers Armani Foster, Isaiah Adams, Yazid Powell, and Kanye Jones.
