Women’s Tennis To Open MAC Play This Weekend

BUFFALO, NY – The University at Buffalo women's tennis team hits the road for the first time as the Bulls open Mid-American Conference play on Friday against Bowling Green and then the Bulls will stay in northwestern Ohio to face Northern Illinois on Saturday.
The Bulls took the court for the first time in over a month on Wednesday afternoon when UB defeated Niagara, 7-0, remaining a perfect 3-0 on the year. Earlier this season, the Bulls defeated St. Bonaventure and St. Francis (PA) by identical 6-1 scores.
Bowling Green is 5-3 on the year and 1-1 in conference play. The Falcons defeated Northern Illinois 6-1 in the conference opener last week, before dropping a 4-3 decision to Western Michigan. BG's other losses this year have come to Notre Dame and Xavier.
Northern Illinois is 7-6 on the year but have won five of its last seven matches. The Huskies split a pair of conference matches last week with a 6-1 loss to Bowling Green, but NIU then came back to defeat Eastern Michigan, 6-1.
Following these two contests on the road, the Bulls will return home to open a four-match homestand.
