9/30/2026 3:07:00 PM | Women's Volleyball
BUFFALO, N.Y. – The University at Buffalo women's volleyball team (9-4, 1-1 MAC) will hit the road for the second week of conference play. They will play in Oxford, Ohio as they'll face the Miami RedHawks (8-5, 0-2 MAC). They'll face off on Thursday and Friday with both matches starting at 6:30 p.m. on ESPN+.
The Bulls opened their conference slate last weekend with a sweep over the Kent State Golden Flashes before falling to the Toledo Rockets in four sets. In Sunday's loss, Manoela Forlin reached the 1,000 career kills mark. She's the first Bull to do so since Katrin Trebichavska (2022-24) when she recorded 1,120 kills, the fifth most in program history.
On the weekend, Forlin was the only Bull to record a double-double in each match, bringing her career total to 15. Against the Rockets both Maddie Mitchell and Abisola Adebayo were effective on the attack. Mitchell hit .583, a team single-match-high, with seven kills on 12 attempts. Adebayo hit .467 with eight kills on 15 attempts with one error.
The RedHawks lead the all-time series 35-17, as well as the MAC series 32-16. Miami won last year's lone meeting, but in recent years, the Bulls have won seven of the last eight meetings. Under Head Coach Scott Smith, the Bulls are 8-4 against the RedHawks.
The Bulls and RedHawks will feature two of the top trios on offense in the MAC. Forlin (151), Hailey Campagna (135) and Sydney Bell (117) have combined for 403 kills this season, making up 65.9% of the team's 612 kills. This is the third highest rate in the MAC as Miami's trio of Molly Creech (174), Chelsea Williams (114) and Lauren Coyne (99) making up 66.3%, good for second in the conference. Bowling Green's Anastasija Bozic (170), Karli Molnau (160) and Avery Hobson (147) make up 69.3% of their kills.
Miami is led by Creech who is averaging 4.27 points per set, 1.50 points than the next closest player on the roster. Grace Kreutz leads the team with 0.49 aces per set. Defensively, Rachel Morgan averages 4.13 digs per set with Lydia Michelin averaging 1.23 blocks per set.
The RedHawks have lost four in a row to Northern Kentucky and Bowling Green. Over those matches, they've managed to win just one set, which came against the Falcons last weekend.
