Women’s Soccer Adds Victoria Caruso to Coaching Staff

BUFFALO, NY – University at Buffalo women's soccer head coach Shawn Burke announced the addition of Victoria Caruso to the coaching staff for the 2026 season.
"Victoria has been on our radar for some time now," said Burke. "Her passion, loyalty and soccer IQ have been more than evident during her time coaching in Western New York, especially during her time at Buffalo State. She will bring an amazing energy and drive to help this program continue pursuing championships!"
Caruso comes to UB after eight years at Buffalo State, most recently serving as interim head coach in 2025 after several years as an assistant coach (2018-2024). Since joining the Bengals staff, Caruso was responsible for serving as the lead technical trainer, responsible for defensive tactical planning, managed administrative and travel planning, and co-lead for recruiting. In 2024, she helped guide the Bengals to their first postseason appearance since 2016.
During her playing career, the midfielder was a four-time All-SUNYAC selection, finishing her career with 15 goals and 32 points in 76 career games. She was an integral member of the Bengals' SUNYAC Championship in 2016 and is the only player in school history to score a goal in the NCAA Tournament.
A native of New Windsor, NY, Carusso holds multiple bachelor's degree from Buffalo State, completing her undergraduate studies in computer information systems and health and wellness in 2018. Caruso also holds a master's degree in sport management from SUNY Cortland in 2022.
