TULSA, OK – Giuseppe Hoose was eliminated in his consolation bout at the NCAA Championships on Friday at the BOK Center in Tulsa, OK. UB's 184-pounder dropped a 6-2 decision to Missouri's Colton Hawks.
Hoose gave up a first-period takedown and was battling from there on. He was able to manage two escapes in the third period, but it wasn't enough.
"Hoose had a great tourney," head coach John Stutzman said. "He wrestled hard and wrestled with confidence and pride."
It brought an end to the best season of Hoose's career. The Lakewood, NY native finished with a record of 21-9 and his 53 takedowns on the year rank seventh in program history for a single season.
