
Four Bulls Named Academic All-MAC

BUFFALO, NY – Four University at Buffalo wrestlers were named to the Academic All-Mid-American Conference team, the league announced on Wednesday. Kaleb Burgess, Sam Ewing, Rafael Knapp and Marcus Petite were all honored by the conference. Ewing and Knapp were named to the team for the second straight year.
Burgess is a health and human resources major with a 3.24 grade point average. He was a 2026 National Qualifier after going 17-7 on the season, including 7-1 in duals and a fourth-place finish at the MAC Championships.
Ewing has a 3.44 GPA as an accounting major. He went 19-14 overall, 9-6 in duals and placed fifth at the MAC Championships.
Knapp is a health and human resources major with a 3.56 GPA. He started 14 duals on the season and finished with a 19-14 overall record and 8-7 mark in duals.
Petite is an education studies major with a 3.5 grade point average. Hampered by an injury, he was limited to nine duals and finished the season with an overall record of 7-9.
The Academic All-MAC honor is for a student-athlete who has excelled in athletics and academics. To qualify, a student-athlete must have at least a 3.20 cumulative GPA and have participated in at least 50 percent of the contests scheduled or completed in the particular sport. First-year students and ANY transfer students in their first year of residence are not eligible for the award.
