
Bulls Earn NWCA Team Scholar All-America Award

MANHEIM, PA – For just the third time in program history, the University at Buffalo wrestling team earned the National Wrestling Coaches Association (NWCA) Team Scholar All-America Award, ranking in the top 30 academically among all Division I programs.
The Bulls posted a program-best 3.42 grade point average to rank 24th in the nation. The NWCA recognizes the Top 30 programs.
Seven members of the team were named Scholar All-Americans by the National Wrestling Coaches Association (NWCA), announced last week. It was the most in program history, surpassing the previous record of four.
Redshirt-Freshman Zachary Belverio, redshirt-senior Kaleb Burgess, redshirt-sophomore Connor Jacobs, redshirt-sophomore Rafael Knapp, redshirt-junior Kelin Laffey, graduate Marcus Petite and freshman Tyler Roark were all honored.
