Bulls Hold off Western Michigan for 4-3 Victory

KALAMAZOO, MI – The University at Buffalo women's tennis team won its second straight road match by defeating Western Michigan, 4-3, in Kalamazoo on Sunday afternoon.
Ambre Amat won a thrilling third-set tiebreaker at fourth singles to clinch the victory for the Bulls. The sophomore from France trailed 6-4 after the first set, but rallied to win the second set, 6-4, and then took the third, 7-6 (9-7).
The other singles points came much easier for the Bulls as Pia Schwarz beat Femke Tjon-A-Joe, 6-2-, 6-2, at first singles and Nikoleta Antoniou-Karademitrou cruised past Maya Perkucin, 6-0, 6-2, at sixth singles.
Schwarz and Antoniou-Karademi teamed up to win at first doubles. Amat and Hsin-Yuan Shih won at third doubles to clinch the doubles points for the Bulls.

The Bulls improved to 6-5 with the win. They will next host Binghamton on Tuesday.
