
Bulls Finish Indoor Regular Season at Kent State

KENT, Ohio – The University at Buffalo track and field teams competed at the Kent State Tune-Up on Saturday morning. The meet showcased talent across the Mid-American Conference with UB, Kent State, Miami (OH) and Ohio, as well as Ashland and Youngstown State making the trip.
The Bulls set new season-best marks during the Kent State Tune-Up on Saturday. Priscilla Faa had a career day as she won two events, the 60-meter dash and 200-meter dash. Faa finished in second in the 60-meter dash prelim by .08 seconds, but took home first-place in the finals with a time of 7.75 seconds just narrowly beating Alena Williams from Ashland by .01 seconds. In the 200-meter dash, Faa won in a time of 25.10 seconds.
Kaylah Britt won the triple jump while setting a personal-record with a jump of 12.39-meters (40'-07.75"). Her mark ranks first in the MAC and fourth in the UB history books. Her fellow teammate Christina Wende also set a season-best mark in the triple jump with a second-place finish of 11.96-meters (39'-03.00"). Wende now ranks third in the MAC.
Jonathan Surdej won the shot put with a personal-record of 16.86-meters (55'-03.75"). Surdej launched himself into the record books as he ranks ninth in UB history.
Molly McCreedy improved her UB ranking as she increased her shot put distance to 15.15-meters (49'-08.50").
Asia Hoyte led the Bulls in the women's weight throw with a fourth-place finish. She threw for a season-best 16.54-meters (54'-03.25"). Freshman Imahni Sinclair had her debut in the women's weight throw and threw for 15.61-meters (51-02.75"). Her distance was two feet better than her high school best.
"Overall, we had a good day, as we are still gaining competition experience and preparing for the Mid-American Conference Championships next week," stated Head Coach Vicki Mitchell."

The Bulls will travel to Mount Pleasant, Mich. for the 2021 Mid-American Conference Indoor Track & Field Championships hosted by Central Michigan University. The championships will start on Friday, Feb. 26 and continue through Saturday, Feb. 27.
