Wrestling Travels to Central Michigan to Face 22nd-Ranked Chippewas

BUFFALO, NY – The University at Buffalo wrestling team travels to Central Michigan for its final road dual of the season on Sunday. The Bulls are in search of their first-ever win over the 22nd-ranked Chippewas.
The Bulls look to continue to build on their successful season. Their eight wins on the year are their most since they had nine during the 2010-11 campaign.
Heavyweight Jake Gunning has been UB's most reliable wrestler of late, winning four of his last five duals, which included pinning his opponent at Missouri and a tech fall at Sacred Heart. Gunning is 14-8 overall and 10-5 in duals on the year and is tied for second in the MAC rankings.
Central Michigan, 6-4 overall and 3-1 in the MAC, has five wrestlers nationally ranked in the top 20 in their respective weight class. Two of those, Colin Heffernan and Justin Oliver, are ranked 13th and 19th, respectively, at 149 pounds. CMU's Zach Horan is ranked 14th at 141, Mike Ottinger is 10th at 174, and Luke Smith is 14th at 157.
Sunday's dual starts at 2 pm.
