
2014 MAC Wrestling Tournament Preliminary Seedings Released

CLEVELAND, OH - The Mid-American Conference announced the preliminary seeds for the 2014 MAC Wrestling Championships that will take place at the M.A.C. Center at Kent State on Saturday, March 8 and Sunday, March 9.
The Bulls top ranked wrestler is sophomore Tony Lock who ranks fifth at 184 pounds. The Bulls also have two other wrestlers ranked as Max Soria is the seventh ranked grappler at 125 pounds and Nick Flannery is the seventh ranked wrestler at 141 pounds.
Four schools boast at least one top-seeded wrestler, with Northern Iowa leading the way with four top seeds, while Ohio will bring three top seeds, Old Dominion with two and Kent State with one top seed. Northern Iowa holds four No. 1 seeds with 125-pounder Dylan Peters, 133-pounder Joe Colon, 165-pounder Cooper Moore and 184-pounder Ryan Loder.
This year, Northern Iowa enters the MAC Wrestling Championship ranked No. 5 in the country and is the only undefeated wrestling program in the nation with a 13-0 record. Northern Iowa also was selected in the latest MAC Wrestling Coaches Rankings as the top MAC wrestling program, followed by No. 9 Missouri.
The pre-seeds were voted on by the conference's coaches and rank the top eight wrestlers in each weight class.
