2022: Started in all 21 games as a senior… Named to the United Soccer Coaches All-Midwest Region First Team… Named a United Soccer Coaches Scholar All-American... Earned Second Team All-MAC Recognition… Continued to bring speed and versatility to the Bulls attack, scoring a career-high five goals and recording three assists on 42 shots… Scored the game-winning goal in the MAC championship game against Ball State (11/6)… Scored a goal and added an assist in a dominating win over Niagara (8/20)…Recorded a goal and an assist in the win over Colgate (9/11)… Scored the game-tying goal against Western Michigan (10/2)… Notched a goal in the final regular season game at Kent State to secure the MAC regular season title (10/27)… Earned Academic All-MAC honors for the third time in her career.
2021: Appeared in all 20 games, earning 19 starts, for the Bulls as a junior… scoring two goals and recording three assists on 27 shots… scored a goal in a dominating win over Niagara (8/22)… scored a goal in a dominating win over Niagara (8/22)… recorded an assist in the shutout win against Duquesne (9/12)… scored the game-tying goal in the win at Eastern Michigan (10/7)… recorded an assist in the win over Western Michigan (10/14)… assisted on the game-winning goal at Bowling Green (10/21)… Earned Academic All-MAC honors for the second time in her career.
2020: One of five Bulls to start all eight games as a sophomore… Named to the United Soccer Coaches All-Midwest Region Third Team… Earned Second Team All-MAC honors… Recorded two goals, four assists and eight points on 15 shots… Scored the game-winning goal at Miami (3/7)… Also scored the game-winner in overtime against Ohio (3/21)… Recorded a pair of assists in a win over Akron (4/8)… Earned Academic All-MAC honors for the first time in her career.
2019: Made an immediate impact in her first season in Buffalo, appearing in all 20 games and earning five starts for the Bulls… Named to the All-MAC Freshman Team… Recorded two goals, three assists and seven points on 27 shots, 14 of those shots coming on goal… Scored her first career goal against Ball State (10/6)… Recorded a goal in a 5-0 win over Northern Illinois (10/18)… Notched seven multi-shot games, including a season-high five shots in the win over NIU.
High School: Wengender comes to Buffalo from Rochester, NY, where she attended Spencerport High School, netting 28 goals and assisting on 18, during her senior campaign for the Ranger Bears under Coach Jamie Schneider. Her attacking prowess led Spencerport to Class A sectional titles in 2016, 2017 and 2018 and Class A state championships in 2016 and 2017 and included an incredible 60+ unbeaten match streak, a New York State Record. Additionally, she was named the MVP of the 2017 NYS Championship match. Wengender earned first team All-Greater Rochester honors three times (2016, 2017 and 2018) and was named first team All-New York State in 2017. She currently holds the Monroe County record for individual goals in a season with 35.
Wengender played her club soccer for Rochester Futbol Club, playing the forward and center midfield positions under Coach Chris Mandarano.
Personal: Born February 24, 2001… daughter of Hank and Lynn Wengender… has a sister Lauren… other hobbies include photography and traveling… lists Lionel Messi as her favorite athlete… favorite foods are sushi and crab legs… enjoys listening to pop music… favorite tv shows are American Horror Story and How I Met Your Mother… if she could visit anywhere in the world it would be Iceland, Alaska or Bali… Business Administration major.
