2011-12: Won first-team All-MAC and Collegeswimming.com Mid-Major All-American honorable mention recognitions. Won the 50 freestyle (school record 22.59) and finished fifth in the 100 freestyle (50.07) at the league meet. Helped the Bulls to MAC victories and school records in the 200 free relay (1:30.45) and 400 free relay (3:19.83) and anchored the 200 medley relay (1:40.77) to a third-place showing and season-best finish.
Previous College: Attended the University of New Hampshire in 2009-10 and Monroe Community College in 2010-11. Finished second in the 50 freestyle and third in the 100 freestyle at the 2010 America East Championships and set the league record for her 100 freestyle split on the Wildcats’ 400 freestyle relay. Set NJCAA national record in winning the 50 freestyle and placed second in the 100 freestyle at the 2011 national meet held in Buffalo swimming for Monroe CC.
High School: Earned five letters and captained one season at Rush-Henrietta High School for coach Matt Greene. Won the 50 freestyle at the 2009 New York State Championships. Earned Section V titles in the 50 freestyle (2008, 2009) and 100 freestyle (2009).
Personal: Born May 2, 1991. Daughter of Timothy and Masami Morrell. Has one brother (Adam). Favorite athlete is Matt Biondi. Favorite foods include popcorn, Skittles and chicken nuggets. Hobbies include downhill skiing and snowmobiling. Majoring in speech and hearing science.
