2014: McCarty competed in four races for the Bulls as a sophomore...he clocked a season-best 8,000-meter time of 27:29 at Lehigh''s Paul Short Invitational on Oct. 4...McCarty added a 27:47.20 finish on Oct. 18 at the Canisius Classic.
2013: McCarty did not compete for the Bulls as a freshman.
High School: Set personal best marks in the 400-meter dash (49.8), 800 run (1:52) and 1,600 run (4:18) as a senior. Was the state champion in the 800 as a freshman and senior. Indoor 1,000 state champion as a senior.
Personal: Born February 4, 1995. Son of Kim McCarty. Has two siblings, Cody and Nicole. His favorite foods are pizza and french fries. Lists his favorite movie as Harry Potter. His favorite athletes are Galen Rupp and Nick Symmonds. Majoring in history at UB.
