10/1/2025 11:54:00 AM | Cross Country
BUFFALO, NY – The University at Buffalo cross country program is set to compete this Friday at Lehigh University's Paul Short Invitational. The Bulls' participation in the annual meet will mark the fourth consecutive season the team has competed at Lehigh.
The Buffalo men are scheduled to compete in the collegiate gold race at 11:00 a.m. The field features 39 teams, including 22 regionally ranked programs and three nationally ranked programs. The Bulls' NCAA Northeast region will have 10 ranked teams in the collegiate gold race, an opportunity for the Buffalo men to climb the rankings. The Mid-Atlantic region will also have 10 ranked teams in the collegiate gold race, as well as another ranked program from the Southern Central region and another from the Mountain region.
The Buffalo men began the season ranked as the 13th team in the Northeast region, but fell out of the rankings despite a strong showing at Penn State's Spiked Shoe Invitational. The Bulls placed ahead of Temple, the now 15th-ranked program in the Mid-Atlantic region.
The Buffalo women are scheduled to compete in the collegiate brown race at 2:45 p.m. The Bulls have not been ranked regionally yet this season despite a strong showing in the Spiked Shoe Invite 6k. The Buffalo women placed fifth of 10 teams in attendance at Penn State, finishing ahead of St Joseph's (14th) and Monmouth (15th), who were ranked in the Mid-Atlantic region. The Bulls also took first place in their season-opening meet at St. John Fisher.
