BUFFALO, NY – University at Buffalo women's soccer head coach Shawn Burke announced the Bulls' 2026 fall schedule on Wednesday. The schedule is highlighted by a trip to Arizona where the Bulls will face off against Grand Canyon before taking on Arizona State as well as a trio of home games against in-state rivals.
"It's always nice when we can take the team out of region, explore new areas and new competition," said Burke. "If nothing else, the desert will test our mental fortitude. We are also excited about the new format this year and the extended schedule. Having more single game weeks will benefit the players as well as the staff in game preparation and recovery."
The Bulls will open the season at home on August 12 against Big 4 rival Niagara before traveling to Mercyhurst to take on the Lakers on August 16.
UB will then travel west for a contest at Grand Canyon on August 20 before rounding out the road trip with a match at Arizona State on August 23.
Buffalo returns home for a two-game homestand, beginning on August 30 with a contest against the Binghamton Bearcats before hosting crosstown rival Canisius on September 2nd. The Bulls will then close out non-conference action on September 10 at Lafayette.
The Bulls will open Mid-American Conference play on September 17 at Central Michigan before returning to UB Stadium to take on Toledo on September 20.
After a bye, Buffalo will remain home to host Eastern Michigan on September 27 before traveling to Oxford for a clash with the Miami (OH) RedHawks on October 1.
UB will then welcome the Ohio Bobcats to UB Stadium on October 4 and then, after another bye, will travel to defending MAC champion Western Michigan on October 11.
The Bulls will then host flagship rival UMass on October 15 before traveling to Akron for a tilt with the Zips on October 18.
After its third and final bye, UB will play two of its final three games of the season on the road as they travel to Bowling Green on October 24, host Kent State on October 29 and then close out the regular season at Ball State on November 1.
The Mid-American Conference Tournament will begin with the quarterfinal round on Saturday, November 7 and will continue with the semifinals on Tuesday, November 10 and the championship match on Friday, November 13. For the first time, all matches will be held at a neutral site in Columbus, Ohio.
Buffalo returns 15 letterwinners from last year's squad, including senior Lexie Thompson who became the first player in MAC history to win back-to-back Goalkeeper of the Year honors, All-Freshman team honoree Adriana Victoriano as well as seniors Laiken Kiser and Eva Blatz who both recorded career-high goal totals last season.
