Bulls Travel to Kent State on Sunday

BUFFALO, NY - The University at Buffalo women's soccer team (6-2-1, 2-1 MAC) travels to Ohio for a clash with the Kent State Golden Flashes on Sunday at 1pm.
It will be the 29th meeting between Buffalo and Kent State with the Golden Flashes owning a narrow 14-11-3 series advantage. The teams played to a 2-2 draw at UB Stadium last season.
Buffalo defeated Ball State 2-1 at UB Stadium on Thursday night. Graduate student forward Jasmine Guerber and freshman midfielder Adriana Victoriano each recorded a first half goal in the win. The Bulls outshot Ball State 11-8 on the night, including a 7-2 advantage in shots on goal and a 4-2 edge in corner kick opportunities.
The Bulls are balanced offensively, with 17 goals scored off the feet of seven different players, led by junior midfielder Laiken Kiser who has five goals and Guerber who has notched three goals and four assists on the year. Junior Lexie Thomspon leads the Bulls between the pipes, compiling a 6-2-1 overall record. She leads the MAC and ranks in the top 50 nationally in goals against average (.68) and shutouts (4) across nine contests.
As a team, the Bulls lead the MAC and rank 36th nationally in goals against average (.67) while also leading the league in shutout percentage (.444). Offensively, the Bulls lead the league in points (49), goals (17), shots per game (15.4), shots on goal (7.9) per game, scoring offense (1.89) and corner kicks per game (6.1), while ranking second in assists (15).
Kent State is 4-3-3 overall and 2-1 in league play after defeating UMass 2-1 on Thursday. The Golden Flashes are balanced offensively, with 14 goals scored off the feet of seven different players, led by Kelsey Salopek who has scored four goals and Samatha Miller who has notched three goals and three assists on the year. Leah Shaffer leads Kent State between the pipes, as she owns a 1.80 goals against average and a .710 save percentage with 44 saves in 10 starts this season.
