Bulls Welcome the Akron Zips for Tuesday Night MACtion

BUFFALO, N.Y. – The University at Buffalo men's basketball team (6-11, 1-4 MAC) will host the Akron Zips (12-5, 5-0 MAC) on Tuesday evening for the Blue Out Alumni Game. The first 750 students and faculty/staff in attendance will receive True Blue T-shirts. Tip-off will be at 7 p.m. on ESPN+. Paul Peck and UB Wall of Famer Turner Battle will be on the call for ESPN. Josh Whetzel and Bob Gaughan will be on the radio call on the Varsity Network or on the radio on Buffalo 1520/Rochester 1280.
LAST TIME OUT
The Bulls came away with an 85-76 victory over the Western Michigan Broncos on Saturday afternoon to snap a seven-game losing streak. Noah Batchelor recorded his second double-double in his career with 10 points and a career-high 12 rebounds. Omar Migues-Hibeljic had a career day at University Arena as he finished with 8 points and was 2-for-3 from three-point range. Tyson Dunn recorded his fifth 20-point performance of the season with 20 points, 8 assists, 9 rebounds and 3 steals. Dunn made a career-high 6 three-pointers. Ryan Sabol continued to score in double figures as he finished with 11 points and a season-high 5 assists. Frederiks Meinarts went 4-for-5 from the floor including 2 threes as he finished with 10 points. Anquan Boldin Jr. tallied 10 points.
The Bulls were electric from three-point range on Saturday at Western Michigan. Their 15 made threes were their most made threes since Feb. 21, 2020, at Kent State when they made 15 in a 102-98 double overtime victory. The last time they made 15 threes in regulation was on March 8, 2019, at Ohio in an 82-79 road win. The 15 made threes are tied for seventh in program history for most made threes in a single game.
ABOUT THE SERIES
This will be the 76th all-time meeting between the Bulls and Zips. Akron leads the all-time series, 41-34. In conference play, the Zips hold a 25-21 lead. Buffalo Head Coach George Halcovage III is 0-2 against Akron as Head Coach John Groce is 13-12 against the Bulls including his stint at Ohio.
The Bulls are 224-235 (.488) all-time in MAC games. In home MAC games, the Bulls are 134-95 (.588).

• Ryan Sabol has made 49 three-pointers on the season that ranks him second in the MAC and 80th in the country. His 2.88 three-pointers per game is second in the MAC and 54th in the nation. He is shooting 40.2% from deep on the season, good for 67th in college basketball and third in the MAC.
• Ryan Sabol has scored a team-high 268 points on the season, good for one of the best scorers in the conference. His 15.8 points per game is fifth in the MAC.
• Tyson Dunn surpassed the 100-assist mark on the season after an 8-assist day at Western Michigan. The last Bull to reach 100+ assists was Armoni Froster (122) in the 2022-23 season. His 101 total assists is 33rd in the country and first in the MAC. His 5.9 assists per game is 23rd in all of college basketball and the best mark in the MAC.
• In MAC play, Tyson Dunn is the only player to rank top-5 in assists (1st, 7.00), made three-pointers (2nd, 3.00) and steals per game (4th, 4.40).
