Bulls Fall to the Nationally Ranked Miami Hurricanes

COLUMBUS, Ohio – The University at Buffalo women's volleyball team (3-7, 0-0 MAC) fell to the No. 20 Miami (FL) Hurricanes (6-2, 0-0 ACC) on Sunday afternoon, 3-0 (12-25, 22-25, 12-25).
For the second time on the season, the Bulls played a nationally ranked team. This was the first time in program history that they've faced two nationally ranked teams.
Manoela Forlin led the Bulls for the second day in a row with 12 kills and a .212 hitting percentage. Luli Arcucci finished with six kills.
The Hurricanes asserted their dominance in the first set as they took it, 25-12. They hit a whopping .520 in the set to Buffalo's .160. The Hurricanes racked up 21 total points in the set.
The Bulls opened the second set on an 8-1 run to force Miami to take an early timeout. The tides turned shortly after the timeout as the Hurricanes took a 14-13 lead. The Bulls went on a run to retake a 21-18 lead. Unfortunately, Miami closed the set with a 7-1 run to take it, 25-22.
Miami swept the Bulls after a 25-12 win in the third set. Buffalo was held to a .000 hitting percentage as the Hurricanes hit. 400. Arcucci led the Bulls with three kills in the set.
The Bulls are back home on Wednesday when they host the Niagara Purple Eagles (2-6, 0-0 MAAC) at 6 p.m. The match can be seen on ESPN+.
