
Bulls Fall to Robert Morris in Final Non-Conference Match

PITTSBURGH, Pa. – The Buffalo Bulls volleyball team (3-6, 0-0 MAC) lost to the Robert Morris Colonials (4-7, 0-0 Horizon) to close non-conference play, 18-25, 22-25, 29-31.
Manoela Forlin led the Bulls with 11 kills as Luli Arcucci added nine of her own.
Maddie Mitchell and Chloe Brown each had 16 digs, career highs for both players.
At the net, the Bulls finished with 10 total blocks to Robert Morris's five. Jordyn Romano had six block assists as both Tehya Shaw and Arcucci had four.
In a slow offensive showing, Robert Morris outhit the Bulls, .177 to .122. On serves, the Dukes tallied 10 aces to Buffalo's four.
SET 1
The Bulls took a 3-1 lead before the Colonials stormed back for an 8-5 lead. Robert Morris never trailed the rest of the set. The Colonials only had four attack errors as the Bulls had eight.
SET 2
Buffalo led by as many as six at 14-8, but it wasn't enough to hold off Robert Morris. A 7-0 run by the Colonials gave them the 15-14 lead. The Bulls tied to fight back couldn't find an offensive rhythm as they only hit .108. Robert Morris won the set, 25-22.
SET 3
It was a high scoring third set where the Bulls finished with 18 kills and five blocks. Trailing 16-13, the Bulls fought back to take a 20-19 lead forcing a Robert Morris timeout. The Colonials managed to get within match point up 24-23, only to get within set point at 26-25. Ultimately, the Colonials went on to win the set 31-29.
