Bulls Travel to Toledo for Saturday Matinee Against the Rockets

BUFFALO, N.Y. – The University at Buffalo men's basketball team (13-15, 7-8 MAC) will face the Toledo Rockets (22-6, 13-2 MAC) on Saturday afternoon at Savage Arena. The game will tip-off at 2 p.m. on ESPN3 with Mason Lowry on play-by-play and Rhett Boyd as the analyst. Josh Whetzel will be on the radio call. The Bulls are coming off a 63-35 win over the Central Michigan Chippewas on Tuesday night. Curtis Jones led the Bulls with 14 points as he was one of four Bulls to score double figures. LaQuill Hardnett and Zid Powell scored 10 each as Isaiah Adams finished with a 12-point and 11-rebound double-double. C. Jones and Armoni Foster each had five assists on the night. The Bulls' defense held the Chippewas to 0-for-13 from three-point range in the contest while racking up 23 turnovers and 17 steals.
The 35 points allowed was the fewest Buffalo has given up in their Division I era, beginning in 1991.
The matchup between the Buffalo Bulls and Toledo Rockets will be the 34th all-time meeting. Toledo leads the series, 19-14. The Bulls are 5-10 on the road at Savage Arena. This will be the second meeting between the schools this season. Toledo won the first meeting on Friday, Jan. 20 by a score of 86-77. The Rockets are one of the hottest teams in the country as they have won 12 straight games, good for the third longest active win streak. Oral Roberts is up to 13 straight with Eastern Washington holding the longest win streak at 18 games. The matchup between the Bulls and Rockets will feature two of the top scoring teams in the MAC. Toledo averages 84.7 ppg as the Bulls average 77.9 ppg.

Toledo has three of the top-15 scorers in the MAC. RayJ Dennis leads the team with 19.0 ppg (3rd in MAC), JT Shumate is fifth in the MAC with 17.2 ppg. Setric Millner Jr. averages 15.4 ppg, good for 12th in the MAC.
