Volleyball Falls to Florida Atlantic at FGCU Invitational

FORT MYERS, Fla. – The University at Buffalo women's volleyball team (8-4, 0-0 MAC) fell to the Florida Atlantic Owls (10-1, 0-0 C-USA) as they wrapped up their action at the FGCU Homewood Suites Invitational.
UB saw themselves on the short end of the stick as they were swept by the Owls, 25-19, 25-20, 25-17. In a back and forth first set, the Bulls failed to close out the set. Tied at 19, the Owls went on a 6-0 run to take set one. The Bulls were as down by as many as six in the second set and tried to claw back, but dropped the set. The Owls were dominant in the final set taking it, 25-17.
The Bulls struggled to score as they only hit .087 compared to FAU's .298. Transfer Cali Assaley led the team with nine kills. Emma Puzausky led the team with 28 assists, adding 10 digs and two blocks.
Once again, the Bulls added to their service ace total as they had six in the match. Katrin Trebichavska led the team with two aces.
The Bulls are back in action on Friday, Sept. 23 as they travel to Kalamazoo, Mich. to open MACtion play against Western Michigan (7-4, 0-0 MAC).
