Bulls Drop MAC Opener at Western Michigan

KALAMAZOO, Mich. β The University at Buffalo women's volleyball team (8-5, 0-1 MAC) fell to the Western Michigan Broncos (9-4, 1-0 MAC) as conference play opened on Friday evening.

UB lost in straight sets to open conference play, 19-25, 15-25, 23-25.

Despite UB hitting .313 in the first set, Western Michigan still outhit the Bulls as they had a hit percentage of .536 to give them 18 kills. UB would finish the night with a hit percentage of .212 compared to Western Michigan's .287.

Mandy Leigh was back in action tonight after missing time last weekend. She led the Bulls with 31 assists. Logan Case of Western Michigan finished the match with 35 assists.

Defensively, Hayley Montoya and M. Leigh each had 10 digs. Β
Β
At the net, the Bulls had eight total blocks. Abby Leigh had five with M. Leigh finishing with four. Courtney Okwara picked up three as both Cali Assaley and Emma Gielas had two apiece.

The Bulls are back in action on tomorrow as they look for revenge against Western Michigan.
