BUFFALO, NY β The University at Buffalo wrestling team is ranked 14th in the final Mid-Major Top 20 poll released by the National Wrestling Coaches Association (NWCA) on Tuesday. Formulated in 2017, the Mid-Major Top 20 focuses on wrestling programs centered outside the "Power 5" all-sports conferences.
At 14, the Bulls are the second-highest ranked team from the Mid-American Conference. Central Michigan is ranked fourth. UB is ranked just above Ohio (15) and Clarion (16).
Buffalo had one of its best dual seasons in program history. The Bulls went 12-6 overall and 7-2 in MAC duals. The seven MAC dual wins are the most in program history and the 12 overall dual wins are one shy of their record since moving to Division I in 1991.
UB will next compete at the 2022 MAC Championships beginning on Friday at Ohio University.

Methodology: The NWCA Division I Mid-Major Wrestling Coaches Poll is voted on by coaches representing teams from non-Power five conferences. The poll is based on dual meet results. Each first-place vote is worth 20 points, 19 points for a second-place vote, 18 for a third-place vote, and so on through to one point for a 20th-place vote. Teams not competing this season are not included in the voting process.
