BUFFALO, N.Y. – University at Buffalo women's volleyball team (15-10, 7-6 MAC) will travel to Oxford, Ohio to take on the Miami (OH) RedHawks (6-18, 1-12 MAC) this Friday and Saturday at Millett Hall. Both matches will be streamed on ESPN+ with Friday beginning at 6 p.m. and 5 p.m. on Saturday.
Currently, the Bulls are tied for sixth in the MAC standings with Northern Illinois, who they split a two match series with earlier in the season. The Miami RedHawks are in dead last in the MAC with their lone win coming against Kent State on Sept. 30. With just five matches left this season, the Bulls need to sweep the weekend to have a chance at the MAC Tournament as the top-6 teams will advance.
This will be the Bulls last road trip of the regular season as their last three matches will be home.
Buffalo is one of the hottest teams entering the weekend as they have won four straight matches. The only teams with longer win streaks are Ball State (11) and Ohio (6).
In the newest NCAA RPI Rankings, the Bulls come in at No. 117 out of 345 programs. Miami (OH) is No. 282, the lowest in the MAC.
ICYMI
Last weekend, sophomore Mandy Leigh reached 2,000 career assists. Against Eastern Michigan she racked up 51 and added 52 against Central Michigan. She is just the 10th Bull to do so. She currently sits in 10th place in the all-time assists lists with 2,039. Cheryl Glose (1986-89) is in ninth with 2,174.
Leigh went on to be named MAC East Setter of the Week for a fourth time this season. Last week, Emma Gielas (offense) and Maria Futey (defense) earned the weekly honor.
