BUFFALO, N.Y. – The University at Buffalo women's volleyball team (14-10, 6-6 MAC) defended their home court on Friday evening as they defeated the Eastern Michigan Eagles (4-20, 3-9 MAC). The Bulls beat the Eagles in four sets, 25-13, 25-16, 20-25, 25-14. UB improved to 8-2 at home this season with four home games remaining.
In total, there were just 10 ties and six lead changes.
Once again, the Bulls dominated on the attack as they finished with an overall hit percentage of .326. Eastern Michigan struggled on the attack as they finished with a .188 hitting percentage.

For the second set it was wash, rinse, repeat as the Bulls won 25-16. At the halfway point of the set, the Bulls led 13-11, but UB made it a runaway. In the set alone, UB racked up five aces compared to Eastern Michigan's one.
In the third set, the Bulls let opportunities slip by as Eastern Michigan won, 25-20. Both teams had 16 kills in the set, but the Bulls let sloppy attacks led to the Eagles regrouping for the kill. UB had three service errors, one of which was late in the set that gave Eastern Michigan the momentum.
The Bulls bounced back in the fourth set and held the Eagles to a .000 hitting percentage. Gielas had eight kills by herself as Easter Michigan finished the set with just 14. Four of the team's six blocks came in the set.
M. Leigh closed out the evening with 51 assists, good for 12.75 per set. She now needs 13 more assists to reach 2,000 career assists.
