BUFFALO, N.Y. – The University at Buffalo track and field team had seven members of the team participate in three last chance meets this weekend. The Bulls tried to move up the NCAA East Regional rankings for the preliminary championships that begin on Thursday, May 27 and run through Saturday, May 29.
ROBERTS WESLEYAN REDHAWK CAPSTONE INVITE
On Friday, Samantha Hjelmar jumped very well as she cleared a height of 1.70-meters (5'-07.00") in the women's high jump placing second. Nakia Williams, Jr. won the men's high jump. He had a monster clearance over 2.00-meters, but unfortunately it didn't come together at 2.05-meters. Williams, Jr. sits tied for 48th place in the NCAA East Regional rankings, he will sit and wait as more results from the weekend come in. As it may not have improved either of their regional rankings, it certainly capped off incredible seasons.
