
Bulls Snap Losing Skid With 5-2 Win Over Eastern Michigan

WILLIAMSVILLE, NY – The University at Buffalo women's tennis team snapped it three-match losing streak with a 5-2 win over Eastern Michigan on Sunday at the Miller Tennis Center.
The Bulls took the early lead, winning two of the three matches in doubles. Azra Deniz Comlek and Lolina Schietekat Sedas won 6-1 at third doubles and the Bulls clinched the win with a victory at first doubles as Pia Schwarz and Ambre Amat won 6-4.
Comlek got the singles victories started at fifth singles as she won her match 6-4, 6-2, while Nikoleta Antoniou Karademitrou won 7-6 (5), 6-1 at sixth singles. UB clinched the match with a victory at fourth singles courtesy of Hsin-Yuan Shih, 6-3, 6-3.
Schwarz won her match at first singles 7-6 (2), 7-5, while Eastern Michigan picked up wins at second and third singles.
"I thought we started to play better on Friday even though we didn't get the result we wanted so we worked to correct some things and I am really happy with our response today," said head coach Kristen Maines. "The girls stuck to the game plan and fought through some adversity and this is definitely a win that we can build on."
The Bulls will remain home and return to action next Saturday.
