
Bulls Drop 3-0 Contest To League-Leading Bowling Green

BUFFALO, NY – The visiting Bowling Green Falcons showed why they clinched a Mid-American Conference regular season title as the Falcons came in and defeated the University at Buffalo volleyball team, 3-0.
The Falcons took the contest 25-17, 25-15, 25-16 as Bowling Green was nearly unstoppable on offense, hitting .469, the highest by a Buffalo opponent this year. UB hit a respectable .232 in the match.
The first set was the tightest as the two team found themselves tied at 9-9. However, from there the Falcons scored three straight and never looked back, opening a 19-13 lead. UB would cut it to 20-15, but Bowling Green ended the set on a 5-2 run. The Falcons hit .600 during the first set.
Freshman Milla Malik led the Bulls with 10 kills and just two errors on 32 swings in the match. Senior Lexi Nordmann had seven kills and no errors on 10 swings as she hit .700. Sophomore Abby Leigh chipped in five kills, while Courtney Okwara and Monika Simkova each had four.
Junior Kyndal Bacon dished out 26 assists, while adding two kills.
Defensively, sophomore Jenna Sonnenberg had a team-high 10 kills, while junior Paige Beck added seven.
UB returns to action tomorrow when the Bulls close out the regular season against Bowling Green at 2pm. The match will serve as Senior Day for UB's lone senior Lexi Nordmann.
