BUFFALO, NY – Winners of two straight, the University at Buffalo volleyball team heads to Toledo for a pair of matches this weekend. The Bulls are now 3-14 on the season.
The Bulls are coming off back-to-back 3-0 sweeps for the first time since the 2018 season, most recently a sweep of Akron on Tuesday night. Freshman Milla Malik led the Bulls in kills in the win and she leads the team in kills per set this season, averaging 3.54 per set. It was an all-around team effort as Buffalo got four service aces from Monika Simkova and one of the best setting performances of the year from junior Kyndal Bacon as she had 38 in the win, averaging just under 13 per set.
Defensively, sophomore Jenna Sonnenberg continues to lead the way with 208 digs, while Lexi Nordmann and Courtney Okwara pace the Buffalo blocking attack that had eight total blocks in the win on Tuesday.
Toledo is 3-12 on the season and has dropped its last five matches. The Rockets are one of the top blocking teams in the MAC, averaging 2.48 per set.
Friday night's match will begin at 6pm, while Saturday's will begin at 2pm. Both will air live on ESPN+.
