
Volleyball Continues Homestand Against Kent State

BUFFALO, NY – The University at Buffalo volleyball team remains home for its two matches this week as the Bulls host Kent State on Thursday night at 6pm and again on Friday at 2pm.
Buffalo is looking for its first victory of the season following a pair of losses to Ball State last week. The Bulls continue to be led offensively by freshman Emma Gielas, who has 36 kills and sophomore Abby Leigh who has 29. Junior Kyndal Bacon leads Buffalo with 56 assists.
Defensively, sophomore Jenna Sonnenberg has a team-high 37 digs and classmate Courtney Okwara leads UB with nine total blocks.
Kent State is 2-0 on the season following a pair of wins over the MAC West favorites, Central Michigan. The Golden Flashes had their opening weekend against Eastern Michigan postponed. Following their wins over the Chippewas, Kent State junior Erin Gardner was named MAC East Defensive Player of the Week and redshirt junior Alex Haffner was named the Setter of the Week.
Per New York Department of Health guidelines, there will be no fans in Alumni Arena this season. Both matches will stream on UB's official YouTube channel. Links are available at UBBulls.com.
