Bulls Complete Weekend Series Against Ball State

BUFFALO, NY – The University at Buffalo volleyball team fell at Alumni Arena on Friday afternoon to the Ball State Cardinals, 3-0.
The undefeated Cardinals were impressive again, taking the contest, 25-11, 25-15, 25-15 as Ball State outhit UB, .318 to .030.
The Bulls had a tough time getting anything going over the first two sets as Buffalo hit negative in the opening set, followed by .000 in the second.
UB hit slightly better in the third set as Buffalo hit .133, but again errors played a big part in the match as Ball State scored 22 points on UB errors.
Freshman Emma Gielas led the Bulls with seven kills, while Monika Simkova and Abby Leigh each had five. Junior setter Kyndal Bacon had 16 assists.
Defensively, sophomore Jenna Sonnenberg had a team-high 12 digs, while Bacon had nine. UB had eight blocks as a team, led by three each from Simkova and sophomore Courtney Okwara.
Buffalo remains home next weekend when it hosts a pair of matches against Kent State. The first is scheduled for Thursday at 6pm.
