- Volunteer Assistant Coach
Justin Figler begins his first season as volunteer assistant coach for the University at Buffalo women’s soccer team. Figler will work directly with the UB goalkeepers for the 2018 campaign.
The Grand Island, NY native joins the Bulls after a two-year playing career at nearby Daemen College where he manned the goal for the Wildcats. Figler was able to start 16 matches as a freshman and 11 matches as a sophomore between the pipes for Daemen while making 130 saves and two cleansheets over his career.
Figler and his brother, Jeremy, both played at the club level under current UB women’s head coach Shawn Burke at the Blackwatch Premier NY Soccer club. Jeremy, also played goalkeeper for the Bulls’ men’s team for two seasons before transferring to St. Bonaventure for his final two seasons.
The local product is working on his bachelor’s degree in Health promotion: health and fitness at Daemen College and is expected to graduate in May of 2019.
